June Lip Faves: Kylie Jenner, NYX & Topshop
18:24:00So for the month of June, I bought a lot of lipsticks! I didn't actually realise how many I had bought till I started to take photos of them for this post, so I had to split this into two parts! This post features NYX, Kylie Jenner's Lip Kit and Topshop lipsticks!
Dolce K
Yes, it's true. The formula for Kylie's Lip Kit's are AMAZING. They dry fast, do not transfer and last SO long. I really didn't want to like her products but because of the hype I decided to purchase one from my friend and I was not disappointed. I can't compare them to Colourpop's liquid lipsticks as I have never used their products before but if I do get some in the future I will compare the two.
Dolce K was really dark on me (as you can see in the photo above) it wasn't like how they were on Kylie's lips that she posted on Instagram, this looked more like True Brown (?). I still really love the colour but I wouldn't wear this everyday.
Candy K
I loooove Candy K! A colour that is wearable for everyday look, lasts long as well (had a whole meal, drank water and it still lasted). The lip liner is nice enough to wear on it's own, I never used lip liners before but with liquid lipsticks as it's trickier to put on I feel like wearing a lip liner makes the liquid lipstick easier to apply. Same as Dolce K it lasts super long and does not transfer. I feel that this colour is more close in shade to the photos Kylie posted on Instagram, though her one looked more blush pink. (Keep in mind everyone natural lip shade is different so it may not look exactly like it does on Kylie's lips).
Stockholm
This was my first time trying NYX products since it came to Boots in the UK. I initially bought this because many had said it was a dupe for Candy K, although the shade is similar to Candy K, the texture isn't. NYX's soft matte lip cream takes a little longer to dry and the texture feels very drying on the lips, it does transfer so you have to top it up throughout the day. Because this is very drying, make sure you apply lip balm throughout the day, (you'll also see a lot of cracks on the lips if left on for a long time so it doesn't look visually pleasing, you may want to wipe it all off and reapply again).
Instanbul
Another NYX soft matte lip cream in Instanbul. It's a very pretty colour!! I like it a lot but same as the review above, it takes a little longer to dry and does dry up throughout the day however I'm not sure if it's because of the shade but this one doesn't leave as many "cracks" in the lips as it does with Stockholm, anyone else relate?
Topshop - Role Model
I bought this because it was in the sale for £3 when I walked into Topshop, I really like this purplely shade! I imagine it would look amazing during the winter as it has a hint of berry colour in it. I have yet to test this out completely but when I put it on it was very smooth, moisturising and pigmented. Also I didn't use lip liner or anything (I usually don't with lipsticks) and it was easy to apply.
Topshop - Freak
This shade came out really coral on me, I thought it would be more of a nude matte colour. Perfect for summer! I usually don't go for the bright pink/peach shades as I like reds/berry/purple/nude colours myself but this one is really pretty and it would look really nice during summer! Again, it was moisturising, easy to apply (no lip liner used) and very pigmented!
This rounds up all part one of the lip reviews I bought in June, I recently bought Kylie Jenner's Exposed from my friend but haven't had the time to test it out yet. Let me know if you own any lip kits or what your favourite lip product was in June!
