Moomin Cafe
16:24:00During the two weeks in Hong Kong, I went to the Moomin Cafe in Tsim Sha Tsui. The journey there was quite long (or maybe we were just tired on the day as it was boiling hot). It is placed inside the TST shopping mall and you will see it is the Moomin Cafe as there are 2 Moomin's sitting outside it, which you can take a photo with.
I went with my sister, cousin and auntie, since there were four of us we got two plushies from the Moomin family places next to us and another table, however if you were going alone to the restaurant or as a two, they will place Moomin's next to you to make you feel less lonely which is such a cute idea!
These were the ones places next to us. I do wish I came alone (or with someone else) so I could of have gotten a Moomin placed next to me haha. When these were placed next to us there were strict rules that we couldn't move or touch them but you could take a photo with them/of them
I'll sit next to you....
The restaurant is decorated with Moomin printed images on the walls, giving it a very friendly and welcoming feel to the Moomin family
We got main meals as I didn't realised we could've just gotten dessert etc..and I got a ice cold macchiato.
I got a chicken/cheese pie with chips and salad
You could choose what print you wanted on the drink, I went for the classic Moomin one of course!
Different art/prints you could have on your drink!
The food came quite quickly and the staff were friendly, it was quite filling but nothing too different from what I have had before. The price came up to HK$570 (and abit) altogether which is not too bad for what it was.. Nothing was included together, so the meal and the drinks were separate.
The air conditioning in the restaurant was very very strong so I recommend bringing a scarf or some sort of cardigan (in the summer time). I actually fell ill when I left the restaurant and was ill the next day however I don't think it was the food at all.
Hong Kong is real humid and hot in the summer (it went up to 36c/37c when I was there) but when you get into shopping malls/restaurants/transport, they blast the air conditioning which can mess up your body temperature which makes it easier for you to get ill.
Have you ever visited a Moomin Cafe before and did you enjoy your experience?
